1993 Mercedes Benz 190E 2.3L

This car was purchased brand new in Jacksonville FL. She's only had two owners in her 27 years. The 2.3 was the higher end of the 190E class cars and came equipped with a bunch of options, this one having, per the option codes:

Brilliant Silver Metallic paint (she's suffering some crazing and cracking, could possibly be rectified by a professional color sanding and polishing); Outside temperature indicator; Alpine radio with active bass speaker system; Leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob; Luggage nets on backs of front seats; power sun roof, tilt/slide; 4 speed auto trans; Cruise control; driver air bag; power locks; illuminated vanity mirrors on sun visors; folding center arm rests, F&R; height adjustments on each seat; Behr air conditioning (currently not operating correctly, stuck in heat mode, heat can be turned off and outside air vented in) rear defrost window and Heat Insulated glass all around; alloy wheels; rear seat reading lamp.

The interior is grey MB Tex, which like most of the interior, is in near perfect condition, granted, cockroaches and MB Tex are the only things known to man that will survive a nuclear blast.

The body and "frame" rails are totally free of rust and rot. 4 wheel ABS disc brakes bring things to a halt.

In 1998 the car came north to CT where the current owner purchased her and she drove the car daily for several years, continuing the regular maintenance the first owner had started. However, in 2002 she decided to drive the car much less as she had purchased another, new car. The service performed just before she tucked her into the garage, with 96K miles, was a head gasket and water pump and oil change. The car sat, not often driven over the next 15 years. In 2017, they decided to recommission her and spent nearly $4000 on hoses, belts and several sensors, relays, etc. She started driving the car again regularly but several months ago the car developed a stumble at idle and she parked the car again, not wanting to drive the car. Having spent the previous money, they felt at this time it would simply be best to just sell her on to a new owner who can take the time and money and get her back to her former glory. A quick check shows that the #2 cylinder is misfiring at idle. Up over 2000 rpm, she smooths out.. The engine currently has 128K miles.

The 190E isn't a powerhouse at only 134HP/146lbft, but with the gearing she feels pretty sporty cruising around the back roads. On the highway she'll rack up almost 30 MPG.

Overall, drivable, super solid, beautiful interior, good handling, nice, handsome early 90's lines. In the right hands this should be someone's new daily driver.

Asking price is $2000 obo.

Any questions, to schedule a time to see her in person or to make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks for the interest.
