1987 Corvette project/running gear.
The 87 Corvette isn't a car one looks at and thinks valuable restoration project. Excellent versions are lucky to break 5 figures. This one, with the 4 speed manual and overdrive is a little special in that they only made about 4300 of them.
So, if you owned one of these many years ago or your Dad or Grand-Dad did, you may have a fire in your heart to restore this car, however, as most of us probably don't have that flame a burning, this C4 is probably better off being used for its running gear and engine to power any number of other vehicles, they work very under an assortment of rat rods.
This would especially nice as it has the 240HP TPI 350 V8, backed by the 4 speed manual w/overdrive. The stock suspension is in great shape and has the8.5", 3.07 geared rear.
The saddle leather seats need some work but could be rather comfortable in the rat rod with some custom fit covers.
Other options include: 105 amp alternator, power driver seat, power door locks, automatic AC, gas shocks, cruise control, Bose/Delco stereo/cassette and 4 speaker system, power, heated mirrors.
The car has been sitting for several years, but has owned by the same person for many years. He says the car will start and run with some new gas and a battery. It does turn freely.
$1200 will give your rat rod some awesome underpinnings.
