TM LCC.
1970 MGB/GT
Our belief is that this is a three or four owner car.
We think the first owner had the car up through 2000 when Marshall purchased the car. He was in his early 70's. Over the next 2 years, he put over $30,000 into this car. The car was painted, the seats recovered, the engine rebuilt, suspension bits rebuilt or replaced, rubber seals, brakes, etc. The primrose yellow paint does justice to the Pininfarina designed body.
The engine is the original 1800 cc, 4 cylinder. It has been set up with a down draft Weber 2 barrel carburetor on a Pierce intake and exhaust is sent out through a Mowog (factory) header/manifold. A K&N air filter sits on top of all that. The alternator has been replaced with a higher amp unit. The original recessed grill was replaced with an earlier model chrome grill. The front shocks have been rebuilt and the rear shocks were replaced with "modern" style gas tube shocks.
This car is very much rust/rot free.. except... for one nickel size hole in the passenger floor where a carpet snap used to reside. Some minor surface rust exists on the lower A arms and cross-member.
The 54,000 mile engine transfers the torque to the rebuilt rear end via a 4 speed manual transmission.
This car is THE one to get for worry free driving over the next year or more. The car had 47,000 miles on it in 2000 when Marshall purchased the car and he put roughly 7000 miles on the car after he did all the work. The current owner has only put 700 miles on the car in the last 3 years. The car starts right up as seen in the cold start video and runs great. She shifts easily and drives well. There are three Mastercraft 14" radials replaced just before the current owner purchased her and he put one Vredstein on in 2017.
The front disc brakes and rear drums easily stop the little car.
In 2019 Road and Track magazine called the GT one of "16 Most Beautiful Pininfarina Designs that aren't Ferrari's"
In the bright yellow, wire wheels and great looks, this car will get waves and thumbs up everywhere you take her.
This one is ready to enjoy.
Asking price is $10,500
Questions, to schedule a test drive/time to see her in person or make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me.
