1970 Monte Carlo
This car was built in the Baltimore, MD plant and then headed west to CA. Our guess is that it is a 5-6 owner car and rumor is that Al Jardine of the Beach Boys was one of the first two. That cannot be confirmed though.
It was under the same ownership for the last 20+ years and has been in CT for all of those. That owner went through the car in 2001 and rebuilt the engine and had the car painted in the original Green Mist Metallic. It is the original, 4 bolt main, numbers matching engine, beefed up a bit for performance by adding an Accel ignition,Edelbrock Street Performer manifold and Edelbrock 600 performer 4 bbl carb (the original Q-Jet 4 bbl is with the car), and aluminized Hooker headers with a 2.5" true dual exhaust. This set up will put out at least 300 hp and 330 lb ft and funnels all that through a TH350 three speed automatic, shifted by the "air craft" console mounted shifter.
This car runs a drive great, has super solid floors, sub-frame, etc. There are a couple small rust bubbles now showing on the paint near the drip rails.
The interior is the original green vinyl and could have only 32,000 miles on it as it is in very good nick and aside from small seam separation on both the bucket seats.
Simply a beautiful car with some real muscle to back up the good looks.
Ready to drive, show and enjoy.
Asking price is less than 20K and can be had for 19,000.
