1962 MGA Mk II 1600
This car has been owned by the same family for roughly 8 years. When it was purchased, it was believed to have had a motor freshen, with a cam and some valve work. Owner is unsure if complete rebuild was done. Odometer shows 58000 miles.
Again a situation of too many cars and not enough time to get out and enjoy them, this wonderful Mk II was chosen as one to move on to a new conservator.
The car starts, runs and drives superbly in the great British sports car manner. The 1600 engine, equipped with a side draft Weber, moves her along quite nicely, even on the highway at 70 MPH.
Front discs slow her down and a new, tighter ratio steering box helps flick the wheels through corners.
Since his ownership, this conservator has replaced the top with a new unit, she has a new generator, electric fan in addition to stock fan, exhaust was replaced several years ago,a little more free flowing, it has a second inline electric fuel pump along with an electrical kill switch. A good toneau cover is also included.
The bright red paint shows very well, there is no rust on the car and the leather seats were reupholstered under his watch. Upon close inspection, a few small blemishes can be found in the paint.
Current market trends show the MGA Mk II as climbing and becoming rather popular with values in the mid forties for concours winning examples. This car would be considered a 2-3 or very good and as such is priced at $32000, which is negotiable.
