Purchased almost 20 years ago from the second owner of the car, the current owners thoroughly enjoyed her, taking her throughout New England.
They added easily 15,000 miles of the current 53,000 miles on the odometer.
When they bought her, she had been fully restored. Repainted, new leather interior upholstery (black with red piping), engine was rebuilt and that included a hotter cam, Weber side draft carb and a header ( odo shows 53,000, however, they feel mileage since the restoration is around 20,000 miles).
There is no rust on the body and a very small amount of surface corrosion on the battery tray, bottom of the frame and the lower sections of the A arms.
This car is in beautiful condition with just a couple of chips in the paint and a stress crack in the paint next to the luggage rack.
The interior is also in excellent shape with no wear on the seats, dash or door cards, even the carpet is still in great condition. All the gauges, lights and electronics work as they should.
The engine starts right up with just a couple of pumps of the throttle pedal and settles into a smooth idle.
Out on the road, the minor mods made to the engine help her get up and go and the 1622 CC 4 cylinder will move you to 60 MPH in just about 12 seconds as you row through the 4 speed manual transmission. Disc brakes in front and drums out back slow you back down and the Moss sourced wooden and aluminum steering wheel, through the rack and pinion steering, points you in the right direction. Neither steering or brakes are power.
The Khumo tires are mounted to the original, chrome (restored) wire wheels and are in good condition, the car always kept inside, however there are those who may feel they are "aged out" with dates codes of 2006.
The top is in excellent shape as well and includes hard, sliding side curtains and a full soft tonneau cover.
This car is a great driver and can be taken to local shows and cars and coffee events with pride.
Totally turn key.
Asking price is a market correct $28,000
